Restylane®

Restylane® is an innovation based on non-animal hyaluronic acid, manufactured by a unique method in the Q-Med Laboratories in Sweden. The treatment is performed by injecting Restylane® into the skin or lip, and it takes less than 30 minutes. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and also dissolves naturally over time. Hyaluronic acid is present in all living organisms. In your skin it creates volume, resulting in a healthy and vital appearance. Restylane® contains hyaluronic acid in the form of a crystal-clear gel injected into the skin to lift the lip, wrinkle or fold. The Restylane® Treatment

The procedure known as cosmetic denervation uses Botox® injections to improve the appearance of worry lines, frown lines, crow's feet and other wrinkles. Botox® may also be used to relieve muscle spasm, relax anterior neck bands, and improve underarm and palm sweating.How does Botox® work?
Botox® blocks impulses from the nerve to the tiny facial muscles and relaxes the muscles so they do not contract. After treatment, the overlying skin remains smooth and unwrinkled while the untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion, allowing normal facial expression to be unaffected.
Are Botox® treatments safe?
YES. Botox® injections have been used safely and effectively for over ten years.
What is the treatment like?
Cosmetic denervation with Botox® is a simple and safe procedure. Using a tiny micro needle, a very small amount of Botox® is injected, very precisely, into several locations on the face. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the injections is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. No sedation or local anesthetic is required; we do apply a topical anesthetic to help with any discomfort. You can resume normal activities immediately. It is recommended that you do not lie down for about one to two hours after the procedure. You can drive yourself to the office or back home. Rarely, patients experience a slight temporary bruising at the injection site which can be covered with make-up.
What result can I expect?
If dynamic wrinkles make you look older than you are, cosmetic denervation can smooth them out and give you a more youthful and pleasant appearance. However, this procedure cannot improve wrinkles due to aging and sun-damaged skin since they are unrelated to facial muscle contractions. Botox® injections will not improve sagging skin or replace the need for a facelift or laser resurfacing.
What are the limitations of Botox® injections?
The effects of the injections last about four months. For best results, injections are best repeated 2 to 3 times a year. The duration of the treatment increase with every treatment so the 2nd and 3rd treatments will last longer. Also, the duration of effect varies from patient to patient and may be less effective for those over 65 years of age.
