Blepharoplasty
During the aging process, one may develop excess upper eyelid skin or medial eyelid fat pads which can interfere with one's visual field and make one appear fatigued. Because the eyelid skin is the thinnest skin of the body, recovery from this procedure is rapid with bruising and swelling usually lasting for a couple of weeks. The sutures are well hidden within the eyelid crease minimizing any scarring. The lower eyelids primarily develop excess fat herniation and occasionally undesirable laxity which may need to be tightened with laser. The excess fat can be repositioned or removed via an incision made inside the lower eyelid; given that the incision is not made on the surface under the lash line, there is no risk of scarring or a pull on the lower eyelid. This procedure is done under twilight sedation which keeps recovery to a minimum and greatly reduces the risk of the procedure.
